Present Behavior
To be honest with you, I cannot count on my fingers how many times someone tellsme, "leave the past behind". Learn from it, forgive yourself for the mistakes, for not doing something you should have, or doing something you shouldn't have. Then move onto a new steppingstone, a higher one.
It seems to me, we, humans, definitely know what we should do in most cases, yet we refrain from it. We give in to our fears which are based on past experiences. We choose to hang on to our mistrust, which is based on the grudge we know we are supposed to let go of, and we can always find plenty of justification for that ill-gotten choice. Today is no different and as a result, struggles, past issues, even if they belong to the past of our prior generations, are raised to the forefront, prompting our self-righteous indignation. But we have dismissed, and/or forgotten our downright soul-filled knowledge of letting go, forgive, love, and unite; all leading to chaos. Is that really what we want?
Thinking about all this, prompted me to write the following poem, to which I attached one of the more recent artworks I've done that I think gives good imagery to my hopes of what good I see could happen if we choose to follow the heart of our higher self. I welcome reflection, opinions, and reviews.

Present Behavior
how cross we are!
without proper alliance
the tipping
into a precarious axis
parentless behavior
a long ago
identity theft
our refusing
of proper alliance placing I
in the search engine
the focus
on our acquired differences
in fear
we look passed
our commonalities

Peace starts with me
I wrote this poem a few days ago and posted on Facebook.
So devastating! <3
It is no longer about black lives matter.
They do matter, they mattered for a long time. Abuse, murder comes in all colors.
What about love? Isnt love, the most powerful force in the universe, colorblind?
True love is the only solution to the problems today. Not anger, not hatred, not pointing fingers toward another.
Peace starts with me.

Below is a photo of a Detroit police officer Waldis "Jay" Johnson, who was shot down during the riot. I pray for his family. This is what hatred does. He was killed by someone of his own race.

Resonance
Resonance
How often do we forget
that in the shadow of our soul
Lies a pure pearl?
There are those of us
who cannot even conceive
Its existence,
others have buried it,
wading in a pool of stagnation,
hard to exit
hard to exit
choosing
to ward off of our horizon
a place of wonder,
too wounded
from the pain of letdown,
they cut off trust
they cut off trust
dismissing
the wish upon a star,
found futile
found futile
and the angel
assigned to us to guard
ignored.
Time to untie
assigned to us to guard
ignored.
Time to untie
the mask we placed on our soul
for believing a lie,
the pure ones
who tried to point us north
we have abandoned,
for believing a lie,
the pure ones
who tried to point us north
we have abandoned,
only to discover
after they passed the value
of their offering,
until we turn
after they passed the value
of their offering,
until we turn
our heart in the direction of North
we will not know the pearl inside.
we will not know the pearl inside.
Sanctimoniously,
she holds the stainless cup
day after day piously
her devotion
day after day piously
her devotion
to uphold the mold formed
from the fusion
from the fusion
of sweat,
countless tears and the blood
shed by her beloved lord,
shed by her beloved lord,
mixed
with the heavens pure water
which she had cupped
when together they reached
the highest mountain ledge,
overlooking the East of Eden,
overlooking the East of Eden,
and poured
its healing brew upon the garden,
giving it rebirth;
giving it rebirth;
mold
for a pathway through grounds
weed-free.
weed-free.
Growing back
Stronger than ever
Stronger than ever

A Pathway to Heaven
Pathway to heaven
A poem I wrote, using a new created form called End Line Word
When I see your Face...
No one knows why, where or . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .When
Our time to pass will come, but heed the words . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .I
Need to say, because it is important that you . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .See
How much you mean to me. That when I see . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . your
Face. I know how much I mean to you in the smile upon your . . . . .Face
It is God who placed you on my path so that I may grow and . . . . . .I
Thank Him, for you have made a difference. So please . . . . . . . . . . . .See
that the words you say, the things you do toward . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .The
People that you know, affect their minds and heart. Your. . . . . . . . . . Face
they won't be able to forget. Waste not your time with gains . . . . . .Of

Morning Calm (toward better connection)
Before we can relate to another in truth, we need to heal from the past; not only our own but our generational past, which is responsible in great part to how we treat and/or relate to one another.
Recently I came across this webinar on Family Healing through relational connection, organized by the Women's Federation for World Peace USA, and I would like to share it with you.

Coastal Grandeur
Feeling somewhat contained and constrained as I follow along with the mass set rules imposed these days due to COVID 19. At the same time, fear and cries of loss and pain amplified by the media as life has been for everyone forever altered; but inside I can travel where I like, free to bring vision
or past memories to life
infinity
from what is seen
the unseen
Godgal - meditative haibun
And new painting of a place I went to that truly mesmerized me,
"Grandeur Côtière" (coastal grandeur)

Fond Remembrance
Today is a very meaningful day for me. May 16, 2006 was the day, my Dad was buried. In my whole life, I have rarely met a man of such contenance. He and my mom that year on Aug. 4th would have celebrated their 52nd year anniversary. It is especially a bittersweet memory only in that I was planning to visit my parents that year who live in Belgium. Instead I had to fly there for his funerals, though he was still alive when I left Los Angeles, he had already passed away when I landed, and did not have a chance to see him or talked to him.
The lily of the valley was my dad's favorite flower and he passed away in the month of May, which is the month of the lily of the valley in Belgium since they bloom at that time.
This is a haiku I wrote in his honor.

Here is also the painting I just did for the last couple of days,
"Le muguet inoubliable" (the unforgettable Lily of the valley)

Overflow of the Heart
Overflow of the Heart
* * * * * * *
the heart can hold
only so much of swelling
its tears
need an orifice lest
it falls into sickness
the swelling does not
descend, rather it rises
of sadness or gladness
out of the eye
s, even the nose
to finally air out
rolls down
the soft swell of cheeks
and upon lips
prompting the tongue
to take a taste
all along
the whole frame shakes
and life is renewed
swells into a groove
knowing it can still dance
